There is just Something about Autumn

Autumn has always been my favorite season. There is something special about the cool crisp air, eating fresh apples, pretending like I don’t like pumpkin spice lattes and not having to deal with the summer sweat for a while.

It took a little longer than usual to put together this month’s blog post. We spent the last month in preparation for this time of year, the harvest, so to speak.

As we reach the midpoint of the season we are gearing up for a huge push over these next few weeks and have many exciting events coming up.

An interesting fact: The owners of this business both have Autumn birthdays, one has recently past and the next one is coming up. These events were booked right in-between.

We spent the better part of the day today at The Cornerstone Christian School for their Annual Vendor Fair in Manchester Connecticut.

Next Saturday on November 8th we will be down in Newtown Connecticut at Christ the King Church for their annual Fall Fair.

Then we will be visiting Wallingford’s First United Methodist Church for their Vendor fair on November 15th.

At this stage of our business doing back to back weekend events is a lot of work as we juggle family, work, church and our various other responsibilities. We are also still working on the creation of and permitting for our mobile coffee cart. Navigating the legal requirements and processes to get this part of the business going is so much fun…

…However all of the hard work is necessary if we expect to reap the fruits of our labor. So, I’ll leave you with a few scriptures which tell us what the Bible has to say about harvesting:

2 Corinthians 9:10 (ESV): He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.

Proverbs 20:4 (NLT): Those too lazy to plow in the right season will have no food at the harvest.

Galatians 6:9 (NIV): Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
